01 The House

A fragrance house composing scent as a quiet act of disappearance.

We build fragrance the way a darkroom builds an image: slowly, in the dark, watching something arrive. Each composition begins with an absence we want to fill, then a single material we trust to carry the rest. Nothing here is loud. The intention is presence you notice only after a person has left the room. Made in small batches in London, Ontario, and shipped to anyone who keeps a low light on.

I stopped getting asked what I was wearing and started getting asked what was different about me. That is exactly the point. A. Reyes, Toronto

03 The Craft

Built slowly, in the dark, the way film is developed.

01

Single origin first

Every composition starts from one material we source directly: a rose harvest, a vetiver root, a resin. The formula is built outward from that anchor, never around a marketing brief.

02

Small batch maceration

Each batch rests for at least eight weeks before bottling. Time is the ingredient most houses skip. We let the molecules find each other in the dark.

03

High concentration

Our extrait formulas run between eighteen and twenty four percent. Less alcohol, more material, a scent that stays close to the skin for the length of an evening.

Rose, vetiver, oud, oakmoss. We name what is inside, and we name nothing we cannot trace. Sourced single origin
The Story

Veil & Vapour began in a converted darkroom behind a print studio. The founder, a former photographer, started blending scent the way she had once developed film: working blind, trusting the chemistry, waiting for an image to surface. The house keeps that discipline. We release no more than two compositions a year, we name them after light and weather, and we make them in quantities small enough to know every bottle. There is no flagship boutique. There is a workshop, a low lamp, and a list of people who write back.
