The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program for residents whose household income is under $90,000 a year and who do not have other dental benefits. Coverage scales with household income. Some services require preauthorization.
Eligibility: no existing dental insurance, Canadian resident for tax purposes, filed previous year tax return. Open to seniors 65+, children under 18, and adults with the Disability Tax Credit. Other eligible residents enrol starting 2025.
