Same shop, since 1994.
A site to match.
A short audit of what the current Clean Free HTML5 template is doing well, what it is doing poorly, and what an upgraded preview would change. Same Highbury Avenue counter, real homepage, no monthly fees.
Your website today vs. what it could be.
We built this preview from everything already on your site, reorganized, redesigned, and priced to own outright.
- fastphotolondon.com is a hand-coded HTML5 template from Clean Free HTML5
The current site's footer reads "Clean Free HTML5. All Rights Reserved. Created by FREEHTML5.co." That is a free template circa 2014. The hero photos are credited to Pexels, not John's actual shop. The site has been parked on a free template for a decade.
- Pricing chart on the current site has corrupted characters
The price list reads "80 cents ea." instead of "80¢". The page is in the wrong character encoding, which makes the actual posted prices look broken to anyone reading them on a phone.
- Stock photos from Pexels instead of John's actual shop
Fast Photo has been on Highbury Avenue since December 1994 and operates a real woodworking workshop. The current website shows generic stock photography. None of the actual shop, prints, or pieces from John's Workshop are visible.
- Order-online activation key buried on a generic page
The activation key CA-UJTF is the entire purpose of the 'Order online' page, but it sits in a tiny paragraph on a template page. The site does not call out the actual key or instructions.
- Visitors see a "Not Secure" warning
Chrome and Safari flag your website with a scary warning because it doesn't have a little lock icon. Most people hit back before they read a single thing.
- The site doesn't work on phones
Text is tiny. Buttons don't fit. Images overflow. About 7 in 10 people looking for a local business in London are on a phone, and most of them leave immediately.
- The design looks out of date
Customers decide whether to trust a business in under 5 seconds, and they use the website to do it. A dated look makes an excellent business look like it's not paying attention.
- Actual shop personality back on the homepage
Special Elite typewriter headlines. Photo-frame cards with hand-stamps. Film-strip dividers. Kodak yellow + sage + ribbon-red palette. The site looks like the inside of a 30-year-old photo lab, because it is.
- Posted prices, set out cleanly
Every line from the price chart, with proper currency characters, set out in price-tag cards. Passport, digital prints, print-to-print, enlargements up to 40 by 60, film-and-slide-to-CD, portraits + commercial.
- John's Workshop hero'd on its own About page
The 2010 woodworking pivot is one of the most distinctive things about Fast Photo, and it deserves a real page, not a sentence. We give it a workshop card grid and a story.
- Activation key CA-UJTF treated like the asset it is
The order-online activation key is set inside a photo-frame card on the contact page. Anyone who lands on the page can copy the key in five seconds.
- A site that actually looks like a real business
Modern design that matches how your business actually feels, not a clicked-together template that looks like everyone else's.
- Works perfectly on phones
Most people looking for you are on a phone. This site is built for phones first, then tablets, then laptops, in that order.
- Everything you already have, better organized
Your hours, your services, your photos, your prices, your booking link, your menu, all of it, in one clean place that people can actually find.
- Fast, secure, and runs itself
Hosted on Cloudflare, the same network that powers Shopify and Discord. Always online, always secure, always fast. No plugins to update.
- You own it. Pay once. Forever.
$250 one time. No monthly fees for hosting. No subscription. No lock-in. The site is yours to keep, forever.
