Tax help that explains itself.
We started The Tax Guys because Canadians deserve an accountant who explains things in plain English, answers the phone, and genuinely cares about the outcome. No judgment. No confusing jargon. No disappearing after you file. Just straightforward, expert tax help from people who actually want to see you succeed, whether you're filing your first return or running a growing business.
We're part of the CAPC family, alongside dt group Canada, CAPC Capital, and Côté & Associates. That means when your business grows into franchise expansion, complex corporate structures, or capital financing, we've got the resources to support you at every stage.
The London office sits on Highbury Avenue North. Walk in, drop off, or work with us remotely from anywhere in Canada. Same team either way.
Common questions, answered.
What do I need to bring to my appointment? +
All T-slips (T4, T5, T3, etc.), RRSP contribution receipts, medical expense receipts, charitable donation receipts, rental income/expense records, and any CRA correspondence. Don't worry if you're not sure, we'll walk you through what we need when you book.
What if I have multiple years of unfiled returns? +
This is more common than you'd think, and it's completely fixable. The CRA's Voluntary Disclosure Program (VDP) allows you to come forward and file late returns with reduced penalties in many cases. We handle this regularly, don't be embarrassed, just call us.
Can I claim home office expenses? +
If you worked from home, you may be eligible to claim home office expenses including a portion of your rent, utilities, internet, and maintenance costs. The rules changed after COVID, we'll make sure you claim exactly what you're entitled to.
I'm new to Canada. Where do I start? +
Welcome to Canada. Your first Canadian return can be confusing, but we specialize in newcomer returns. We'll explain how the Canadian system works, help you apply for benefits you're entitled to (CCB, GST/HST credit), and make sure you start on the right foot with CRA.
How do you handle estate returns? +
When a loved one passes, there are typically two filings required: a final T1 return for the year of death, and potentially a T3 trust return for the estate itself. We handle both with care, guiding executors and family members through the process step by step.
