Eye Exams
Adult and Senior Eye Exams
A physical for your eyes, top to bottom.
Comprehensive exams update your prescription and check for diseases that often have no early symptoms, like glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. We use OCT and ultra widefield imaging for a complete view inside the eye.
- • Adults aged 20 to 64: every two years
- • Seniors aged 65 and up: every year
- • More often if you are higher risk for glaucoma or have diabetes
Children's Eye Exams
About 80 percent of what kids learn comes through their vision.
Children develop fast and so do their eyes. Vision issues often hide as restlessness, headaches, or trouble in school. Most children's eye exams are covered by OHIP.
- • At least one exam between 6 and 9 months
- • One exam each year between 2 and 5 years
- • Every year from age 6 to 19
Diabetic Eye Exams
Diabetes affects the eye long before it affects vision.
A diabetic eye exam includes pupil dilation so we can see the retina clearly. We watch for diabetic retinopathy and macular edema, both of which start without symptoms but can lead to vision loss if missed.
- • Recommended every year if you have diabetes
- • Fundus photography and OCT imaging
- • Coordinated with your family doctor
Contact Lens Exams and Fittings
Contacts only work if they fit you. Properly.
A contact lens exam plus a separate fitting. We measure your cornea, pupil, iris, and tear film, then trial the right lens. Soft, rigid gas permeable, toric for astigmatism, multifocal, transitions, allergy, and ortho-k all stocked.
- • Toric lenses for astigmatism
- • Multifocal contacts for distance plus reading
- • Transitions contacts that adapt to light
- • ACUVUE Theravision allergy contacts
