A neighbourhood clinic in the Adelaide North block.

Adelaide Medical Centre sits in unit 5 of the Adelaide North plaza, on the same block as Blessed Hands Barbershop and Harris Home Hardware. The plaza is a five-minute drive from Western University and the same distance from Old North, Argyle, and Old East Village. We see the people who actually live and work here.

We are walk-in only. We do not roster long-term family-medicine patients, and we don't take overnight appointments. The clinic is built for the everyday medical things: a sore throat that hasn't cleared, an ear infection, a refill that's about to run out, a sick note for school, a wound that needs a few stitches before it gets infected. The kind of visit that should take half an hour and shouldn't require an app.

We are not an emergency room. Chest pain, severe shortness of breath, head injuries, severe bleeding, or signs of stroke should go to LHSC University Hospital, or call 911. For everything in between, walk in, bring your OHIP card, and we will see you.

Common questions, answered.

Do I need an appointment? +

No. We are walk-in only. First-come, first-served. Phoning ahead can tell you the current wait time, but doesn't reserve a slot.

How long is the wait? +

Most visits run thirty minutes total from the time you arrive. Saturday mornings and Monday after a long weekend are the busiest windows.

Do you accept new family-medicine patients? +

We do not roster long-term patients here. For continuous family-doctor care, we can give you the Ontario Health Care Connect number.

Can I get a refill on my regular medication? +

Yes for most medications. We do not refill controlled substances (narcotics, ADHD stimulants). Bring the bottle or a recent pharmacy printout.

Are kids welcome? +

Yes, all ages. Please bring a parent or guardian and the child's OHIP card or Interim Federal Health document.

Do you do COVID and flu shots? +

Where stocked, yes. Vaccine availability changes seasonally. Phone ahead to confirm before walking in for a shot specifically.

What if I don't have OHIP? +

We see patients without OHIP at a published private rate. The front desk will tell you the amount before any visit starts.

No portal app

Sign-in is on paper.

A short form at the front desk. Two minutes. We don't make you download an app, register an account, or watch a tutorial.

No phone tree

A real person answers.

Phone the clinic between visits and somebody who works here will pick up. "What's the wait" is the most-asked question, and the answer is honest.

Honest scope

We say what we don't do.

Not an ER, not a long-term family practice. We tell you up front and we point you at the right place.
